About the 2010 Census

Carolyn Webb, president of the Benton County Republican Women, shared a February 12th article from The Eugene Register-Guard regarding the 2010 Census. Included in the article are the questions for the census:


2010 CENSUS QUESTIONS
  • How many people live or stay in the household?
  • Do any additional people live or stay in the household?
  • Is the residence owned or rented?
  • What is the telephone number?
  • What are the names of all the people living in the residence?
  • What is each person’s gender?
  • What is each person’s age and date of birth?
  • Is anyone of Hispanic, Latino or Spanish origin?
  • What is each person’s race?
  • Does any person in the household ever live or stay anywhere else?
What's missing?

Look for your census form In mid-March. An interactive sample at 2010.census.gov explains, "Each question helps to determine how more than $400 billion will be allocated to communities across the country." The government is spending $340 million to promote the census and those who do not participate could face a $5,000 penalty.
