Oregon Republican Party Supports Second Amendment, Opposes Senate Bill 941

Wilsonville, OR – The Oregon Republican Party strongly opposes Senate Bill 941, legislation that would require the registration of private gun sales, enforced through excessive penalties, including heavy fines and mandatory jail time. The Oregon Republican Party Platform clearly states: “we demand the protection of individual rights, freedoms and private property by local, state and federal government…” (Section 11) ✧ The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution clearly states: “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Clearly, SB 941 infringes this Constitutional right.
