This is a tale about "the most transparent administration in history." We thank President Obama for that description, for we were momentarily at a loss about how to describe the executive branch during his tenure. On Friday, the most transparent administration in history's State Department released a batch of emails from Hillary Clinton's time as secretary of state. More interesting than what they contained - it was the usual batch of previously denied classified material -  was that they landed on sleepy reporters' desks at 1 o'clock in the morning.

U.S. will not take floor at UN rights debate on Israel, Palestinians

GENEVA - The United States will not take the floor at the main U.N. human rights forum on Monday during the annual debate on violations committed in the Palestinian territories, a U.S. spokesman told Reuters.  The move at the 47-member state forum where Washington unfailingly defends Israel, follows signals that the Obama administration is undertaking a "reassessment" of relations with Israel.  The last time that Washington spoke under that stand-alone agenda item was in March 2013, U.N. records show.

Supreme Court Rules Unanimously Against Obama for 12th and 13th time Since 2012

Did you know the Obama administration’s position has been defeated in at least 13 – thirteen — cases before the Supreme Court since January 2012 that were unanimous decisions? It continued its abysmal record before the Supreme Court today with the announcement of two unanimous opinions against arguments the administration had supported. First, the Court rejected the administration’s power grab on recess appointments by making clear it could not decide when the Senate was in recess. Then it unanimously tossed out a law establishing abortion-clinic “buffer zones” against pro-life protests that the administration supported (though the case was argued by Massachusetts attorney general Martha Coakley).

Administration eases restrictions on asylum seekers with loose terror ties

The Obama administration has unilaterally eased restrictions on asylum seekers with loose or incidental ties to terror and insurgent groups, in a move one senator called "deeply alarming."

 

The change, approved by Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and Secretary of State John Kerry, was announced Wednesday in the Federal Register. It would allow some individuals who provided "limited material support" to terror groups to be considered for entry into the U.S.
