In the wake of the San Bernardino attack, liberals are in a total panic over guns. The New York Times broke a 95-year precedent to editorialize about gun control on its front page. But the Times seems restrained compared with the full-on meltdown at the New York Daily News, which has taken to calling the head of the NRA a "terrorist." Read more at Townhall.com

Concerns About Sovereignty Lead Senate Conservatives to Nix U.N. Treaty on Disabled
(12-5-2012, CNSNews.com) – Conservative groups welcomed the U.S. Senate’s failure on Tuesday to ratify a United Nations disabilities treaty, which they view as an infringement of U.S. sovereignty. But Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), a leading proponent, called it “one of the saddest days I’ve seen in almost 28 years in the Senate.” ✧ The Senate voted 61-38 in favor of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), falling five votes short of the required two-thirds majority. ✧ Eight Republicans voted with Democrats for the measure. No Democrats voted against it.
Republicans who voted with the Democrats in favor were Sens. Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), John Barrasso (Wyo.), Scott Brown (Mass.), Susan Collins (Maine), Dick Lugar (Ind.), John McCain (Ariz.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Olympia Snowe (Maine). ✧ Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) did not vote. Read more at CNSNews... Read More......

WSJ: UN Ends Arms Trade Treaty Talks Without Deal
[Excerpts] Talks at the United Nations over a potential treaty
limiting the illicit
flow of weapons ended last week without a deal. [...] For the deal to
be struck, all 193 U.N. nations had to agree on the text
of the agreement. The New York Times reported that the U.S. faced internal pressure from gun-rights groups to walk
away from the talks. Read

$1.1 trillion spending bill collapses - thank you GOP
Senate Democrats have given up on their plan to pass a $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill in the face of unified Republican opposition. ∴ The bill’s collapse will take with it more than 6,000 earmarks as well as more than $1 billion in funding for implementation of healthcare reform. A Force of One: The Federal Reserve
HUMAN EVENTS, 7/14/2009 by Chuck Norris - I agree with Judge Andrew Napolitano, who said last week, "We know more about the CIA than we do about the Federal Reserve." ∴ The Federal Reserve is the Freemasonry of government agencies. It is a virtual secret society unto itself -- a group of unelected brokers who hold the value of our dollar in the palms of their hands. This one agency, with its power to raise and lower interest rates, has exercised more control over the economy than any other government body. ∴ So with that type of single-handed power, why should we be surprised that the U.S. Senate blocked a bill last week to audit the Federal Reserve? 'Tis true! Rep. Ron Paul and more than half of his colleagues in the House co-sponsored the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, HR 1207, which they hope to have hearings on soon. On the Senate side, Sens. Jim DeMint, Mike Crapo and David Vitter co-sponsored S 604, companion legislation introduced by Bernie Sanders. But it was stopped cold before even being introduced on the floor on "procedural grounds." Read more at Human Events...
