Feminist Internet: Men Proposing to Women Is Rape Culture
(Hat tip: KimR) - According to a piece in the feminist blog Bustle, the tradition of men proposing women is “problematic” because it “perpetuates rape culture.” Yes — not “problematic” because it perpetuates recklessly emotional social media posts, but because it “perpetuates rape culture.” Read more at National Review

Feminism Ends 72-Year-Old Nobel Scientist's Career

Little Girls Drop F-Bombs to ‘Empower’ Feminism
The feminist movement is selling something, but it isn’t feminism.
In FCKH8.com’s latest video, “Potty-Mouthed Princesses Drop F-Bombs for Feminism,” little girls between 6 and 13 years-old dressed up as pink princesses to say f*ck in the name of feminism. One girl questioned, “What is more offensive? A little girl saying f*ck or the f*cking on equal and sexist way society treats girls and women?” In response, the feminist liberal media latched onto the video, calling it “brilliant,” “empowering” and “adorable.” - Read more and watch the video (if you dare) at NewsBusters
Warning! You'll be see[th]ing 'red' not pink after watching the video! --bc Read More......

What 'Lean In' Misunderstands About Gender Differences
What if difference between men and women turns out to be a phenomenon not of oppression, but rather of social well-being? --Christina Hoff Sommers (2013)
There is much to admire in Sheryl Sandberg's book, Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead. It is full of funny stories about her brilliant career and helpful advice for workplace success. As former chief of staff at the U.S. Treasury Department and vice-president of Google, and now COO of Facebook, the 43-year-old billionaire and mother of two has a lot of worldly wisdom to share. She is right that many women sell themselves short and pull back too early from their careers. Sandberg urges them to man up.
But this otherwise likeable and inspirational self-help book has a serious flaw: It is mired in 1970s-style feminism. Nation magazine columnist Katha Pollitt compares Sandberg to "someone who's just taken Women's Studies 101 and wants to share it with her friends." What Pollitt intends as a compliment goes to the heart of what is wrong with Lean In.

‘Women Warriors’: New Movement Challenges Liberal Feminism
By Janine Turner, 10/23/2012 - A dated, sexist movement is meeting its match in conservative women. ✧ Liberal feminists think they have cornered the market on defining a woman. They think they own the agenda on what a woman wants; that only they represent women’s rights. ✧ Yet we see a new feminist movement arising in America — the “Women Warriors.” Conservative women are representing reason and are selflessly seeking answers to critical concerns beyond gender and sex. Women Warriors understand the conflicts of the world, the crises confronting America, and are sounding the alarm. Read more at PJ Media...

Liberal women are particularly venomous...
GOP USA, 10/28/2010 by Kay Daly - ....against conservative women. And they call conservative women the mean girls? ∴ Joy Behar calls Sharon Angle a bitch, on live daytime TV no less, and in the same breath demands that Sharon get sensitivity training. Liberal men are no better. however. Jerry Brown calls Meg Whitman a whore, half apologizes, clearly wonders what all the fuss is about and yet claims to be "sensitive to the women's agenda." Whatever that is. ∴ You know what really drives liberal women crazy? A conservative woman who is pregnant, married and happy. If looks could abort! Somehow, they believe we are lesser beings for embracing tradition, getting married, having children, having a career inside or outside of the home, but either way, not resenting every moment bitterly.
I have had less hysterical liberal women explain it to me. Apparently they really dislike conservative women because they truly believe that we are somehow traiitors -- that we despise our own gender. And they feel morally justified in doing whatever it takes to discredit a conservative woman.
For years I have been getting hate mail from liberals, but the most vicious stuff definitely originates from the gals. I have even been defriended on Facebook by one liberal gal because I said something nice about Sarah Palin. The horror!
Christine O'Donnell has been called every name in the book and unfortunately, it hasn't originated solely from the liberal wing.. There have been conservative naysayers as well who bent over backwards to try to make sure she lost the primary. And don't get confused here -- I am not a feminist. I don't believe for a moment that those who dislike(d) O'Donnell had some burr under their saddle that she was a female. She just wasn't part of the "vetted inner circle." Mike Castle was someone that the powers that be knew wouldn't rock the boat.
I think we can all agree that the boat needs some serious rocking.
The hatred is hardly reserved just for conservative female candidates, either. There is one conservative columnist who told me that she moved her entire family because the liberals had put her home address, phone number and even a picture of her home on a very public website. Pretty high price to pay for having a difference of opinion.
Just think for a moment if the tables were turned here. I can only imagine what would happen if Sharon called Joy a bitch and Meg called Jerry a whore. Can you imagine the hysteria on the left?
In some bizarre way, I am actually thrilled that this is happening out in the public eye because it has gone on unchecked for years. Now you all can see in living color what outspoken conservative women have gone through for years out of the viewfinder of the camera lens and just out of earshot of a microphone. It has only served to make most conservative women hone their skills, toughen up and be determined to stand on principle, no matter what the cost.
Like it or not, my liberal sisters, it is definitely the year of the conservative woman. And as Ronald Reagan used to say, "You ain't seen nothin' yet."

And the fecklessness of American feminism.
The Weekly Standard, May 21, 2007, Volume 012, Issue 34 - Christina Hoff Sommers wrote,
The subjection of women in Muslim societies--especially in Arab nations and in Iran is today very much in the public eye. Accounts of lashings, stonings, and honor killings are regularly in the news, and searing memoirs by Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Azar Nafisi have become major best-sellers. One might expect that by now American feminist groups would be organizing protests against such glaring injustices, joining forces with the valiant Muslim women who are working to change their societies. This is not happening.George W. Bush is a better advocate for women's rights on a global scale than U.S. women's rights groups. Shouldn't our feminists be embarrassed? Read More......
If you go to the websites of major women's groups, such as the National Organization for Women [NOW], the Ms. Foundation for Women, and the National Council for Research on Women, or to women's centers at our major colleges and universities, you'll find them caught up with entirely other issues, seldom mentioning women in Islam. During the 1980s, there were massive demonstrations on American campuses against racial apartheid in South Africa. There is no remotely comparable movement on today's campuses against the gender apartheid prevalent in large parts of the world.
It is not that American feminists are indifferent to the predicament of Muslim women. Nor do they completely ignore it. For a brief period before September 11, 2001, many women's groups protested the brutalities of the Taliban. But they have never organized a full-scale mobilization against gender oppression in the Muslim world. The condition of Muslim women may be the most pressing women's issue of our age, but for many contemporary American feminists it is not a high priority. Why not?
The reasons are rooted in the worldview of the women who shape the concerns and activities of contemporary American feminism. That worldview is--by tendency and sometimes emphatically--antagonistic toward the United States, agnostic about marriage and family, hostile to traditional religion, and wary of femininity. The contrast with Islamic feminism could hardly be greater. Continued...
