That's a 'Renewable Energy' Job? If You Say So

The statewide news site MLive recently published a column by the owner of a solar panel installation company claiming the state’s renewable energy sector has produced an estimated 82,600 jobs. --Dean Berden, owner of DB Solar in Snover, wrote: “In recent years, Michigan's renewable sector has already seen tremendous growth, with more than an estimated 82,600 jobs in renewable power industries, energy efficiency and other conservation services.” The column links to a report called, “Powering Up Michigan," and attributes the 82,600 jobs number to a 2010 Bureau of Labor and Statistics report.

Green dreams of jobs bonanza dashed in California

Want a definition of a green boondoggle? This incredible report by the Associated Press tracking the three year program to tax corporations and give the money to schools for green energy projects - a ballot measure that promosed tens of thousands of new jobs - shows the total, abject failure of another green energy project. --Three years after California voters passed a ballot measure to raise taxes on corporations and generate clean energy jobs by funding energy-efficiency projects in schools, barely one-tenth of the promised jobs have been created, and the state has no comprehensive list to show how much work has been done or how much energy has been saved.

Germany’s Green Jobs Miracle Collapses

Renewable energy was supposed to create tens of thousands of green jobs. Yet despite three-digit Euro billions of subsidies, the number of jobs is falling rapidly. Seven out of ten jobs will only remain as long as the subsidies keep flowing.—Daniel Wetzel, Die Welt, 26 May 2014

“A few years ago the renewable sector was the job miracle in Germany, now nothing is left of all of that,” said the deputy leader of the Greens in the Bundestag, Oliver Krischer.—Daniel Wetzel, Die Welt, 26 May 2014

The same green subsidies have led to rising costs and job losses in many other areas, such as heavy industry and commerce as well as conventional power plants.

Hoekstra: Prisoners taking work from private sector

HOEKSTRA.HOUSE.GOV, 12/8/2009 by U.S. Reps. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI) and Dave Camp (R-MI) - "The insanity continues: 'green jobs' are turning into 'orange jumpsuit' jobs." ∴ The president recently held a "Jobs Summit" at the White House. Topping the agenda was the creation of "green jobs." With the unemployment rate in Michigan hovering above 15 percent and the nation at 10 percent, a great deal of hope is being thrust upon the renewable energy industry and the promise of "green jobs." ∴ It appears, however, the administration is content with having those jobs performed by prisoners as opposed to law-abiding citizens. Van Jones resigns

9/5/2009 - REUTERS and BREITBART report that Van Jones, Pres. Obama's 'green jobs' czar, resigned late Saturday evening. But in an Accuracy in Media (AIM) article, Van Jones Scandal Threatens Obama Presidency, published before Jones' resignation, Cliff Kinkaid wrote, "Curiously, it's not Jones' communist background which has proven to be the most controversial. Rather, it's his two apologies in a week for statements calling Republicans 'assholes' and having signed a 9/11 truth statement blaming the terrorist attacks on U.S. officials. ∴ It's the communism, stupid."
