Obama frees suspected bodyguard of Osama bin Laden from Guantanamo
The military freed one of Guantánamo's most determined hunger strikers to Saudi Arabia Tuesday, a former "forever prisoner" brought here the day Camp X-Ray opened as a suspected bodyguard of Osama bin Laden. --The release, to a Saudi jet on this base's air strip, left the prison camp population at 114. Now, 52 of the captives are cleared for release to special security agreements with other countries.

Federal judge orders Obama administration to release detained mothers and children
A federal judge ruled late Friday night that the Obama administration has just over two months to begin releasing hundreds of migrant mothers and children who have been locked up in government family detention centers as they await their asylum hearings. --In a 15-page ruling that quoted Mahatma Gandhi, U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee in Central California delivered a scolding rebuke of the government's expanded use of family detention centers. But she also granted the government one of its key requests for additional time – as much as 20 days - to continue to hold mothers and children under extenuating circumstances like last year's surge of nearly 70,000 Central American families into the United States.

WSJ: Release of Taliban Detainees Alarms Afghan Villagers
SHEYKHAN, Afghanistan—Taliban forces led by Mohammed Fazl swept through this village on the Shomali plain north of Kabul in 1999 in a scorched-earth offensive that prompted some 300,000 people to flee for their lives.
Fifteen years later, local residents here are responding with fear and dismay to the U.S. release of the notorious commander, along with four other Taliban leaders in exchange for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the only American prisoner of war who was held by the Taliban. The group released a video on Wednesday showing the hurried handover a few days earlier of the American captive, looking gaunt and dazed.

Bergdahl release arrangement could threaten the safety of Americans, Republicans say
Amid jubilation Saturday over the release of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl from captivity by the Taliban, senior Republicans on Capitol Hill said they were troubled by the means by which it was accomplished, which was a deal to release five Afghan detainees from the military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Top Republicans on the Senate and House armed services committees went so far as to accuse President Obama of having broken the law, which requires the administration to notify Congress before any transfers from Guantanamo are carried out. ✧ “Trading five senior Taliban leaders from detention in Guantanamo Bay for Bergdahl’s release may have consequences for the rest of our forces and all Americans. Our terrorist adversaries now have a strong incentive to capture Americans.

Romney Would be Insane to Release More Tax Returns, Unless....
John Nolte: Romney should go on offense and make a deal with Obama and the corrupt media:
- I'll give you three years of tax returns if Obama will release the names and addresses of the tens of thousands of undisclosed donors from the 2008 campaign who reportedly donated upwards of a couple hundred million dollars. There are alarming reports that a whole lot of that was foreign money. John McCain disclosed all the information on all his donors, Obama needs to do the same. ✧ If you want another year, Barack Obama needs to... [and it goes on]
