Revelations that a half dozen well-heeled liberal foundations are pouring millions of dollars into a concerted campaign to force religious organizations to accept same sex “marriage” have defenders of religious rights warning of a new “wave” of litigation. --“Attacking religious exemptions is the next big wave,” Bill Donohue, head of the Catholic League, told LifeSiteNews. “Gay rights are only the pretext. These groups won’t be satisfied till every trace of religion is erased from public life in America.”

The Gay Rights Agenda Stops at the Door to My Church--and My Business
I have a dream. I have a dream that I will wake up one day in a country where we don’t have to go to court or pass a law to protect our fundamental natural rights—from the government. I have a dream of a place where elected officials have so much regard for the Constitution that they memorize it like Scripture, in order to not sin against it. I have a dream about a country where it doesn’t matter if you are on the right or the left, because you have so much respect for the freedoms you were given that you’d do nothing to put those liberties at risk. If you told me that America in 2015 was such a place, I’d have to say, “April Fools” and go back to sleep. Unfortunately, the joke is on us.

Liberals against Religious Liberty in Indiana
Indiana has adopted a state-level version of the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), thereby imposing a “strict scrutiny” legal standard when the state government or local powers pass laws that interfere with the free exercise of religion. For this, Governor Mike Pence and Indiana’s legislators have been denounced as gay-hating monsters, a claim that was never made about President Bill Clinton, who signed the federal RFRA, or about the people and powers of such liberal states as Connecticut, which is one of the 20 states with a RFRA. Another dozen or so states have constitutional provisions similar to those in RFRA.

Arizona governor vetoes controversial bill allowing religious beliefs as defense for denying service
During Gov. Jan Brewer's announcement that she had vetoed SB 1062, she said the bill was "broadly worded and could result in unintended and negative consequences." The legislation caused a national uproar, with the business community, the state's Super Bowl Committee, Major League Baseball, the National Football League and both Republican U.S. senators calling for a veto. Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney also weighed in and urged Brewer to veto the bill, which had been passed by social conservatives in the Arizona Legislature. Proponents complained that the bill had been misrepresented.

Fa La La La Law to Protect Our Troops
(Hat tip: Jane Newton) - Long before "Duck Dynasty," other camouflaged Americans were being persecuted for their beliefs: U.S. service members. Now, thanks to Congress, our brave men and women will finally have the legislative armor they need. It took until almost midnight, but when the Senate passed the Defense Authorization bill, it was worth the wait. After a year-long struggle against the forces of political correctness, leaders stood together in defense of our troops' right to speak and act openly on their faith.
With overwhelming bipartisan support (84-15), the Senate approved the legislation with Sen. Mike Lee's (R-Utah) military conscience language -- handing FRC and its supporters one of the biggest victories yet in the battle for religious liberty. Under the bill (which still awaits the President's signature), Congress moves the current law from protecting religious beliefs to also protecting the expressions of those beliefs. For service members who've become increasingly afraid to even share their faith, this language is a game-changer. It frees our troops from the fear of retaliation, which so many have experienced under this administration.

Bill of Rights Day -- A Muslim's View
FOXNEWS, 12/15/2010 by Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, founder and president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy - "As we celebrate the 219th anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights today on December 15, it is imperative that we take a moment to reflect upon and embrace the forethought of our Founding Fathers and apply their wisdom to the context that we live in today. This collection of ten amendments to the United States Constitution are what guarantee the sanctity of our individual rights and freedoms and what in the end sets America apart from any nation before or since."
