Wretchard has posted a thoughtful piece in which he touches on various elements behind the changes taking place now in Iraq. We've had so much bad news throughout that the main question has continually been, 'what went wrong?' Now, however, he writes, "The question that will torment historians, if Iraq becomes viable, is 'what went right?" This is a terrific read, if you're interested.
