It shouldn't be surprising, if health care reforms that Obama and many Democrats are pushing hard to enact become a reality, that seniors will be sorely disappointed. If you recall, President Obama first named Tom Daschle to serve as his Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. Kathleen Sebelius was named and confirmed after Daschle's limo-related tax debacle surfaced and he eventually declined the nomination to save the administration further embarrassment. Has anyone heard the president, ccongressional Democrats or Sebelius refute Daschle's rather famous statements (which he made in public and in his book, Critical) regarding seniors? From NICE DEB:
Ironic, isn’t it? Seniors are the ones Democrats try to scare every election cycle: those evil Republicans are going to take away their health-care.Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free." ∴ "Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them." That means the elderly will bear the brunt.
