- "Oregon, Oregon, Oregon." Yes, you read that right... Oregon. Tim Russert famously boiled the 2000 presidential contest between George W. Bush and Al Gore to "Florida, Florida, Florida" but believe it or not, 2012 is shaping up to be all about the Beaver State. Read more at Huffington Post...

Pandering? ‘Pet Lovers for Obama’ Gaining Traction
(THE
BLAZE via Conservative
Byte) - The Obama Administration is famous for its ability to
“speak” to voters, making them feel like they personally are a part of
something much larger. One of the ways they have accomplished this is
by
launching various “groups” for Obama, like “Women for Obama“ or
”African Americans for Obama.” But has the latest group crossed the
bridge into ridiculousness? Introducing “Pet Lovers for Obama.”
PJ has something to say about this:

The Obama vetting begins
Before his surprising death on March 1, Andrew Breitbart promised that 'this time' Barack Obama would be vetted. In recent speeches, interviews and gatherings, Breitbart indicated that he had video tapes to show just how radical Obama really is. The first tape was released today on Breitbart TV. Oregon not a lock for Obama this time around
OneNewsNow, 8/23/2011 by Russ Jones - A liberal lawmaker from Oregon is speaking out against President Barack Obama and saying he may lose his 2012 re-election bid. ✧ During a break between town hall meetings in Eugene, Oregon, Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Oregon) recently told KGW-TV that President Obama is "not [doing] so good." ✧ "I think it started really with his stimulus package, which I voted against," DeFazio speculates. "And I remember the original stimulus that came out of the House would've built a lot more stuff, would've put a lot more people to work." ✧ He points out that the GOP nomination could make or break Obama's bid for a second term.
Barack Obama big"At this point, it pretty much depends upon how far out there the Republican nominee is," the Oregon representative notes. "With a respectable sort of someone who would tend a little more toward the middle of the road ... he's gonna have a very tough time getting re-elected."
And in The Beaver State, where KGW reports that Obama won by some 600,000 votes in 2008, no such landslide is guaranteed next year.
"I believe Oregon is very much in play. I mean, we are one of the harder-hit states in the union, particularly my part of the state," the Democratic lawmaker explains. "I've just done six town hall meetings, got seven to go, and people are shaking their heads and saying, 'I don't know if I can vote for him again.'"
And ultimately, he concludes that Obama has not fought to make good on his promises.
"Fight? I don't think it's a word in his vocabulary," DeFazio suggests. "He concedes everything to the Republicans, so he doesn't seem to have an ounce of fight in him." Read More......

Obama’s efforts to woo independents derailed by debt-ceiling agreement
THE HILL, 8/24/2011 by Ian Swanson - The unpopular debt-ceiling deal has significantly hampered President Obama’s effort to win over independent voters. ✧ Since Democrats were thumped in the 2010 midterm elections, Obama repeatedly has sought to burnish his reputation with independents, often at the sake of his Democratic base. ✧ Yet a Gallup poll this week found Obama trailing not only the two leading GOP candidates — former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Texas Gov. Rick Perry — among independent voters, but long-shot candidate Rep. Ron Paul (Texas) as well. The poll found that Obama leads Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), but only by a 6-point margin, 48 percent to 42 percent. Read more at The Hill...
