The World Needs to Know What Really Happened Last November
(Hat tip: KimR) - Important questions linger about what went down in Paris If the November attacks on Paris have the fingerprints of a foreign intelligence service on them, mimicking the DRS relationship with GIA, where dimwitted jihadists don’t realize they are being set up, the list of potential suspects presents itself at once. It’s long been understood by Western security services that ISIS and the Syrian regime are partners as well as enemies. Read more at the Observer

ISIS copying 19th century German tactics to wage war on the West: Operatives given a deadline to strike targets... then left to it so 'lone wolves' cannot be tied to commanders
(Hat tip: KimR) - Lone wolf jihadis operating in Europe are following a doctrine of 19th century warfare in which they are given a deadline and a target - then sent to attack it by any means necessary. Invoking the Germany Army's historical strategy of Auftragstaktik, the policy helps ISIS carry out attacks abroad when its chain of command is restricted by Western intelligence agencies. the Read more at UK Daily Mail

ISIS “hack”? A Defector identifies 22,000 fighters
(Hat tip: KimR) - Consider this a low-tech hack, and Abu Hamed the ISIS analog of Chelsea Manning. Hamed, a jihadist disillusioned by what he asserts was a Ba’athist takeover of al-Qaeda in Iraq, left the group while taking a souvenir along the way — a memory stick that could undermine the entire ISIS network. Hamed provided documentation that identifies over 22,000 fighters in ISIS to Sky News, information that Western governments will find very useful indeed, if authentic... Read more at Hotair.com

Exclusive: Obama Refuses to Hit ISIS’s Libyan Capital
(Hat tip: KimR) - Despite the growing threat from the self-proclaimed Islamic State in Libya, the Obama administration has turned down a U.S. military plan for an assault on ISIS's regional hub there, three defense officials told The Daily Beast. In recent weeks, the U.S. military -- led by its Africa and Special Operations Commands -- have pushed for more airstrikes and the deployment of elite troops, particularly in the city of Sirte. TSA: Total Security Abyss
(Hat tip: KimR) - While a TSA agent pawed my hair bun this weekend, presumably on high alert for improvised explosive bobby pins, I pondered the latest news on the Somalia airplane terror attack. Intelligence officials released video footage of airport employees in Mogadishu handing a laptop to a jihadist suspect before he boarded Daallo Airlines Airbus Flight D3159 last week... What the next US president will need to know about Iran and Islamic State
In less than a month voters in Iowa will cast their ballots, officially setting the 2016 presidential election in motion. The big question: Will Americans choose a leader who will truly be ready on Day One to face the enormous global challenges that lie ahead, particularly those in the Middle East? Above all, the next president of the United States must understand that the greatest challenge facing the Western alliance in the Middle East is not simply the threat of radical Islam, but that of apocalyptic Islam.

Islamic State has sanctioned the harvesting of human organs in a previously undisclosed ruling by the group's Islamic scholars, raising concerns that the violent extremist group may be trafficking in body parts. The ruling, contained in a January 31, 2015 document reviewed by Reuters, says taking organs from a living captive to save a Muslim's life, even if it is fatal for the captive, is permissible.

Emails show intel analysts were told to 'cut it out' and 'toe the line' on ISIS reports
The scandal involving about 50 intelligence analysts for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) who were pressured to downplay the effectiveness of the Islamic State while it was a growing threat is at critical mass. The Pentagon's inspector general has in his possession emails and other documents that prove there was pressure to doctor the analyses of the Islamic State in order to minimize the threat and talk up the White House "narrative" that the military was doing a good job in degrading the abilities of the terrorist group.

Putin: ISIS financed from 40 countries, including G20 members
President Vladimir Putin says he's shared Russian intelligence data on Islamic State financing with his G20 colleagues: the terrorists appear to be financed from 40 countries, including some G20 member states.During the summit, "I provided examples based on our data on the financing of different Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) units by private individuals. Putin tells Western leaders: Let's bury our differences and jointly strike at 'barbarian' ISIS
Russian President Vladimir Putin appealed to Western leaders to bury their differences with Russia and jointly strike at the "barbarian" Islamic State (ISIS) militants in Syria, saying Friday's Paris terrorist attack underscored the need for such concerted action. --In a condolences telegram sent to French President Francois Hollande, Putin said, "This tragedy is another proof of the barbarian nature of terrorism, which challenges the human civilisation. Clearly, for effective fighting this evil, the entire international community should unite efforts," Tass news agency reported.

The line we have heard more than once from ISIS-related sites is, "The American blood is best, and we will taste it soon." The French are tougher than many realize, but they are not the primary targets of Muslim extremists.

Islamic State is making these Afghans long for the Taliban
When the Islamic State fighters seized the Mahmand Valley, they poured pepper into the wounds of their enemies, said villagers. Then, they seared their hands in vats of boiling oil. A group of villagers was blindfolded, tortured and blown apart with explosives buried underneath them. --“They pulled out my brother’s teeth before they forced him to sit on the bombs,” recalled Malik Namos, a tribal elder who escaped the valley along with thousands of other villagers. “They are more vicious than the Taliban, than any group we have seen.”
