The GOP Path to Prosperity
Our budget cuts $6.2 trillion in spending from the president's budget over the next 10 years and puts the nation on track to pay off our national debt.
In an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), writes, "Congress is currently embroiled in a funding fight over how much to spend on less than one-fifth of the federal budget for the next six months. Whether we cut $33 billion or $61 billion—that is, whether we shave 2% or 4% off of this year's deficit—is important. It's a sign that the election did in fact change the debate in Washington from how much we should spend to how much spending we should cut." Read more at WSJ...

Obama: Toward a 21st-Century Regulatory System
WALL STREET JOURNAL/OPINION, 1/18/2011 by Barack Obama - For two centuries, America's free market has not only been the source of dazzling ideas and path-breaking products, it has also been the greatest force for prosperity the world has ever known. That vibrant entrepreneurialism is the key to our continued global leadership and the success of our people.
But throughout our history, one of the reasons the free market has worked is that we have sought the proper balance. We have preserved freedom of commerce while applying those rules and regulations necessary to protect the public against threats to our health and safety and to safeguard people and businesses from abuse. Reps Bachmann & King: Obamacare threatens U.S. future
POLITICO, 3/19/2010 by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-WI) and Rep. Steve King (R-IA) - "Liberals have long dreamed of putting the government in charge of America’s health insurance industry. Each time they tried, the American people have stood up and rejected a government takeover of health care. ∴ This is different. The stakes are higher and government-run health care advocates are more united than ever before. They believe their political future depends on this bill’s passage." Read the full op-ed at Politico.
- [... p.2] "We can take this country on a path where entrepreneurship and investment flourish; where market-driven health care will provide more coverage to more Americans at a lower cost, and where new jobs that pay well are created by the private sector. ∴ Or we can follow the path of more government that gives Washington more control over our lives. Obamacare is just the first step down this road. ∴ As you read this, the fate of Obamacare hangs in the balance. We must do all we can to kill this bill in the next two days. ∴ Keep those calls to Congress coming, and do all you can to stop this monstrosity. The future of America depends on what we can do in the next 48 hours to kill this bill."

WSJ: Obama and the Bureaucratization of Health Care by Sarah Palin
WALL STREET JOURNAL 0/9/2009 by Sarah Palin - The president's proposals would give unelected officials life-and-death rationing powers.
[Solutions excerpt] Instead of poll-driven "solutions," let's talk about real health-care reform: market-oriented, patient-centered, and result-driven. As the Cato Institute's Michael Cannon and others have argued, such policies include giving all individuals the same tax benefits received by those who get coverage through their employers; providing Medicare recipients with vouchers that allow them to purchase their own coverage; reforming tort laws to potentially save billions each year in wasteful spending; and changing costly state regulations to allow people to buy insurance across state lines. Rather than another top-down government plan, let's give Americans control over their own health care.Read more at WSJ... Read More......
Democrats have never seriously considered such ideas, instead rushing through their own controversial proposals.
