According to a new report from the Dutch social policy institute, the SCP, almost one-third of Dutch voters now believes that immigration and integration are serious issues. Dutch News explains: Almost 30% now consider immigration and integration to be the biggest problems facing the country, double the figure at the start of the year. In particular, people are afraid of increasing tensions in society and many think it unfair so much money is being diverted to refugees while Dutch people live in poverty, the SCP says...

Migrant crisis: Dutch town riots over asylum centre plan
A meeting in a Dutch town to discuss whether to build a new centre for migrants had to be abandoned when some opponents rioted. Protestors in Geldermalsen tore down fences and threw fireworks at police who responded with warning shots.

Geert Wilders Wins ‘Politician Of The Year’ Award For Third Time
Anti-Islamisation politician Geert Wilders has been named politician of the year for the third time in a Dutch poll as his Freedom Party gains ground in the country. In a survey of 37,000 people, Mr Wilders won 25 per cent of the vote, making him the first politician to win the vote three times.

Americans gave their lives to defeat the Nazis. The Dutch have never forgotten.
MARGRATEN, Netherlands — They haven’t forgotten. For 70 years, the Dutch have come to a verdant U.S. cemetery outside this small village to care for the graves of Americans killed in World War II. --On Sunday, they came again, bearing Memorial Day bouquets for men and women they never knew, but whose 8,300 headstones the people of the Netherlands have adopted as their own.

More on "A Reckless Congress"
ADDENDUM (from WSJ article A Reckless Congress): Sorry! I missed this in an earlier post. The Heritage Foundation Chart (below the fold) shows that, if the Obama budget and the House health-care plan become law, including a 2.9% Medicare tax, then U.S. taxes will exceed those of France. Even worse, see where Oregon places in comparison.
