We Lost too many Conservative Luminaries in 2015

For the conservative movement, 2015 started out poorly and continued to be tough all year long. It wasn’t a legislative defeat. It wasn’t political tumult. It was the deaths of too many conservative luminaries who helped build the movement. As conservatives, we need to remember and honor these scholars, because it is all too easy to fall into the fallacy that the movement is defined by what current political candidates say it is. We cannot forget that the conservative movement predates politicians and was, in fact, built by great thinkers.

California Conservatives: Doing Something About Illegal Immigration

“What’s an angry conservative to do?” Kurt Schlicter lamented in his latest Townhall.com piece. I hardly blame the guy. We need fighters, not flighters, men and women of principle who will stand up to Big Everything, and not back down. The Old Guard of the GOP seems content to barely get by, and give in every time funding for an officious institution comes up for reauthorization. US Senator Ted Cruz blasted the leadership in both chambers, outlining how they give up the fight before the conflict begins. So, what’s an angry conservative to do? Stop waiting for someone else, for starters. Then Do something!

55 Conservative Leaders Release Vision For New Congressional Leadership Letter

Republican leaders have a responsibility to better align their party’s policy stances with founding American principles, the U.S. Constitution, and the will and consent of the American people against the threats facing this nation right now. Congressional leaders represent more than merely the internal majority of their respective chambers. They become national leaders of the entire Republican Party and, when in the majority, the citizens of every state. This is the essence of self-government.

Nine in Ten Conservative Activist say "Dump Boehner"

The conservative activist group Citizens United is releasing a new poll of its membership, which surveyed some 4,000 activists across the country. Just two percent approve of the job Congress is doing. More than 90 percent want their Member of Congress to replace current House Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH). --“After four and a half years as Speaker, it’s become crystal clear that grassroots conservatives are through being patient with John Boehner,” David N. Bossie, president of Citizens United, said in a release. “Conservatives are clearly ready for new leadership in the U.S. House.”

New report finds Conservatives demonstrate more self control than Liberals

Findings from three separate studies link a person's political ideology and their self-control performance, with conservatives demonstrating greater self-control than liberals. --In each study, Clarkson says participants who identified as politically conservative consistently showed greater attention regulation and task persistence—hallmark indicators of self-control—and that these effects were independent of participants' gender, race, age, education or income.

Conservatives Blame GOP Leaders For Not Stopping ‘Fundamental Transformation of America’

Republicans are not keeping the campaign promise they made to voters in 2014 to halt President Obama’s “fundamental transformation of America,” conservative and Tea Party leaders charged in an open letter to Congress on Monday. On April 28, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) cited fast-track trade legislation and a bill requiring congressional review of the administration’s nuclear deal with Iran as the major accomplishments of the GOP-led 114th Congress so far.

Beware of counterfeit conservatives groups

In politics, some groups like to masquerade as things they are not, and use downright Orwellian distortions of political terms to make their claims. Voters need to learn to recognize such groups and not be taken in by them. In recent years, moderate and even liberal groups have often tried to pass themselves off as conservative. Eastern North Carolina has seen its share of such behavior.

No Wonder the IRS Is ‘Losing’ E-mails: It Was Trying to Throw Innocent Conservatives in Jail

Even a small child can connect these dots.

The IRS is announcing the “loss” of mass numbers of e-mails (do they have any computers that don’t crash?) even as the e-mails that do exist are beginning to show the extent of IRS corruption. Let’s take this exchange (previously uncovered by Judicial Watch) between Lois Lerner, the director of exempt organizations at the IRS, and Nikole Flax, then the IRS commissioner’s chief of staff. (To be clear, these are not “low level” employees.)

BREAKING: 100% of 501(c)(4) Groups Audited by IRS Were Conservative

Today Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI), the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, confirmed that 100% of the established 501(c)(4) groups the IRS selected for audit were conservative. But Obama says their was not a smidgen of corruption in the IRS. The Wall Street Journal reported:   A Republican House committee chairman said the Internal Revenue Service targeted tax-exempt conservative groups for audits, widening the scope of GOP ire over the agency’s oversight of political activities.

Heading Right in Nevada

Ron Paul is not the president. He was never going to be the president. He was never even going to be the Republican party’s 2008 nominee for president. This is not disputed. But it’s also true that his perennial and perennially ill-fated presidential bids changed America’s political topography in ways that East Coast political observers may not yet fully understand.

The Konservativ Kristallnacht is here

Kristallnacht, literally, "Night of Crystal," is often referred to as the "Night of Broken Glass." The name refers to the wave of violent anti-Jewish pogroms which took place on November 9 and 10, 1938, throughout Germany, annexed Austria, and in areas of the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia recently occupied by German troops.

Instigated primarily by Nazi Party officials and members of the SA (Sturmabteilungen: literally Assault Detachments, but commonly known as Storm Troopers) and Hitler Youth, Kristallnacht owes its name to the shards of shattered glass that lined German streets in the wake of the pogrom—broken glass from the windows of synagogues, homes, and Jewish-owned businesses plundered and destroyed during the violence.

Boehner removes fiscal conservatives Huelskamp and Amash from House Budget Committee

12/6/2012 - Congressman Tim Huelskamp of Kansas and Congressman Justin Amash of Michigan appeared on Hannity (video) to discuss how they were removed from the House Budget Committee by Republican leadership for sticking to their principles and for attempting to hold Washington to a higher standard of fiscal responsibility. They called for GOP leadership to release the list of votes used to judge members and that ultimately resulted in Huelskamp and Amash being removed from the House Budget Committee. Read More......

AIM: The War on Conservative Women

ACCURACY IN MEDIA, 3/7/2012 by Michelle Malkin, Guest Columnist
I’m sorry Rush Limbaugh called 30-year-old Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke a “slut.” She’s really just another professional femme-a-gogue helping to manufacture a false narrative about the GOP “war on women.” I’m sorry the civility police now have an opening to demonize the entire right based on one radio comment — because it’s the progressive left in this country that has viciously and systematically slimed female conservatives for their beliefs. D. Limbaugh: About Those Self-Evident Truths

TOWNHALL.COM, 12/16/2011 by David Limbaugh - "We hold these Truths to be self-evident..." What truths? What has happened to our passion for liberty? I am concerned that we conservatives, instead of making our case as fearless champions of liberty, are too often on the defensive, preoccupied with trying to prove we aren't the demons the left says we are. Barone: To Get a Mandate, GOP Must Win Another Election

By Michale Barone
Those who consider themselves constitutional conservatives should take care to consider not only the powers that the Constitution confers on the different branches of government and reserves to the states and the people, but also the schedule that the Constitution sets up for sharp changes and reversals of public policy. Help build an army of conservative activists...

7/30/2010 by John Eidson (via email/PART 2) - Enlighten the uninformed - A recent national survey showed that twice as many Americans identify themselves as conservative as do those who consider themselves liberal. If there are more of us than there are of them --- and there are -- then how did Democrats win such a resounding victory in the last election? The answer is because millions of apathetic voters still habitually get what little news they expose themselves to from the heavily-biased mainstream media. Many otherwise conservtive people rarely watch Fox News, listen to talk radio or read conservative books, magazines or blogs. Most of these political couch potatoes have no idea how radically the country they love is being changed. Make it your job to help enlighten them.

A CONSERVATIVE VOTE IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE
If you have frinds or family members who are clueless about what's happening to America, try your best to get them to watch Fox News (particularly The Glenn Beck Program) and listen to conservative talk radio. Urge them to sign up for free daily emails from The Heritage Foundation and DickMorris.com, check out the Drudge Report, read the online opinion pages of The Wall Street Journal and the Washington Examiner, and frequent blogs such as Powerline, Michelle Malkin and American Thinker. And, make sure that all conservative-minded people you know are registered to vote.

John asks... When is the last time you added new names to your political email group? If you're sending emails to the same people all the time, you're not doing as much as you could to spread the conservative message. Adding new people to your e-group isn't hard to do -- all you have to do is ask. Expanding your list by just one name each week will make a big difference in alerting more people to what's happening to their country.

Tues., Nov. 3: Senate Election Strategy Call

From U.S. Senator Jim DeMint, 10/30/2009 - This Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 8:30 PM (EST)/5:30 PM (PST), conservatives from across the country will come together on a live, toll-free conference call to discuss strategy for the 2010 Senate elections. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC, Chairman, Senate Conservatives Fund), will lead the discussion along with Erick Erickson, the editor of RedState.com. They invite conservatives to register for the call and join them on the 3rd (also posted on our events calendar). Click here to register!

"This event will launch the formation of a committed conservative community that will work together to win several critical Senate races. It will mark the beginning of a year-long movement to take back our country.

We will discuss which candidates are the true conservatives, answer questions about specific races, and explain what you can do to help defeat the liberal politicians who are destroying our country.

We will also conduct instant polls so you can vote for the candidates you like best using your telephone. And at the end of the call, I will announce at least one major endorsement for the 2010 elections.

Americans are waking up and conservatives are on the march. It started with tea parties, it grew into town halls, and then we marched on Washington. Now it's time to consolidate our efforts, target our resources, and replace the failed leadership in Washington."
