Dear Young Americans: Don't Vote for Bernie

Bernie Sanders deserves our respect. After all, it was not long ago that the senior senator from Vermont and self-proclaimed democratic socialist was pontificating from the political fringe. Today, however, Sanders has re-defined the centerground of liberal politics. His result in the Iowa caucuses — just 0.3 percent behind frontrunner Hillary Clinton — evidences this truth. Yet while Sanders may deserve Millennial respect, he does not deserve our support. For three reasons, a Sanders presidency would be a disaster for young Americans... Obama’s Syria achievement

This may be the most surprising of President Obama’s foreign-policy legacies: not just that he presided over a humanitarian and cultural disaster of epochal proportions, but that he soothed the American people into feeling no responsibility for the tragedy. --Starvation in Biafra a generation ago sparked a movement. Synagogues and churches a decade ago mobilized to relieve misery in Darfur. When the Taliban in 2001 destroyed ancient statues of Buddha at Bamiyan, the world was appalled at the lost heritage.

WP: Obama pledges sweeping climate change legislation

WASHINGTON POST, 6/2/2010 by Michael D. Haiti: Americans help when disaster strikes

Americans are doing what they always do when disaster strikes anywhere in the world, as it did the afternoon of January 12th in Haiti, when a devastating earthquake measuring 7.0, struck near Port-au-Prince. Americans are reaching deep into their pockets and doing whatever they can to help. The Red Cross estimates that between 45,000 and 50,000 people have died. Many thousands more are missing and feared trapped in the rubble. Disease could take an even greater toll in the aftermath. If you wish to support a reputable relief organization, some recommendations follow:

The Red Cross and Salvation Army. Lars Larson personally vouches for the faith-based Medical Teams International. Hugh Hewitt names four experienced, effective Christian relief organizations at work in Haiti. They are ChildHope.org, BeyondBorders.net, The Haitian-American Friendship Foundation and WorldConcern.org. BCRW Members: If you know of a relief organization you wish to recommend, please click "Email" on the bar above and let us know. We offer our prayers for those affected in Haiti. Read More......
