June 2013 BCRW Newsletter

Charles Krauthammer said in Feb 2013:
The current Senate proposal must be improved, either in the Senate or by the House. It’s not complicated. Build the damn fence. And give “probationary legal status” to the 11 million not on the day the bill is signed, but on the day the fence is completed. Have the president drive in the golden fence post at Promontory Point 11 and sign the amnesty right there. Great photo op.
Integrity is not an option. A good name will always serve you well. --Jorrie Muniz

There are two ways to enslave a Nation. One is by sword, the other is by debt.

I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle. --Winston Churchill

Did you ever notice: When you put the 2 words 'The' and 'IRS' together it spells “Theirs”

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money. --Margaret Thatcher.

Bringing the Word of God to children is a most important task. With all the millions of words that have been printed and disseminated throughout human history, there remains no better blueprint for our life’s journey, no superior source of guidance, than the inspired words of Scripture. Ronald Reagan

The secret of getting ahead is getting started. --Mark Twain

Remember Armed Forces Day on Saturday, May 21

Your Freedom Wasn’t… and Still Isn’t… Free! - World War II cost the United States dearly. Our country lost nearly half a million citizens. Many more who lived through combat still carry the scars. Our nation honors all who have served our country to protect us. At this time, we’d like particularly to remember our vets from World War II. A beautiful memorial has been erected in Washington DC to honor them, and veterans are flocking there to see it and to remember their comrades. Don’t miss this 2-minute video! It’s the least you can do for those who kept America free! Subject: WWII Documentary (Trailer)

A local Armed Forces Day Tribute with Flag Rally will be held from 11am-1pm in front of the National Guard Armory, 1100 NW Kings Blvd. Bring your beautiful American flags to wave as we celebrate our nation and those who defend it. Extra flags and "Support our Troops" signs will be available for those who need them. Refreshments will be served. Read More......

Obama's Supreme Court Appointee can turn up the heat...

From the Benton Co. Republicans Newsletter, 5/9/2010: OBAMA’S SUPREME COURT APPOINTEE CAN TURN UP THE HEAT ON OUR CONSTITUTION

As you read this, President Obama is interviewing candidates to replace Justice Stevens on the U.S. Supreme Court. ∴ We do not doubt that he will choose a 21st Century Constitutionalist (who wants to change our Constitution to be a “living, breathing document” that bears no resemblance to our current Constitution), and we will move ever closer to a government by appointed judges, rather than elected representatives. ∴ Stephen Markman, former Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court and Assistant Attorney General under President Ronald Reagan is now a distinguished professor of constitutional law at Hillsdale College. ∴ In the April “Imprimis” Markman warns us:
  1. By 2030 the U.S. Constitution may not bear any resemblance to the Framers’ Constitution of 1787 that has guided our nation for two centuries and has rendered it the freest, most prosperous and most creative nation in the history of the world.

  2. Proponent of a “21st century constitution” or “living constitution” aim to transform our nation’s supreme law beyond recognition—and with a minimum of public attention and debate. (We’ll be too distracted by all the crises the media bombards us with every day).

  3. The overarching theme that 21st century constitutionalists are driving for is to replace our system of republican government, in which our Constitution is largely focused to minimize the likelihood of abuse of power. In its place they want a system of judicial government, in which major policy outcomes are increasingly determined by federal judges. Oh, we’ll still have elections, but the legislature will not have the power to make the big decisions. That will be left to the appointed court justices.

  4. The new constitution would compel specific outcomes. The important decisions would increasingly be undertaken by courts, especially by federal courts. Example: the California courts are already making the important decisions, instead of the millions of voters in the state. Racial quotas, social services funding, and immigration policy in California have been routinely overturned by single judges acting in the name of the Constitution—not the Framers’ Constitution, but a “constitution for our times,” a “living constitution, resembling, sadly, the constitutions of failed and despotic nations across the globe.

None of us believed the statistics attributed to the Congressional Budget Office that said Obamacare would save our nation money.

Now, just weeks after the Democrats rammed their version of healthcare reform down our throats, WE GET THE TRUTH. Economic experts say that adding 34 million persons to the coverage rolls will actually raise spending by at least 2 percent, and probably more, over the next 10 years.

Guess what? Medicare cuts “may be unrealistic and unsustainable” and will drive hospitals into the red, “possibly jeopardizing access” to care for senior citizens!!!
We told them. We begged them. “DON’T PASS THIS POORLY THOUGHT OUT, HURRIEDLY CRAFTED LEGISLATION.

But the Democrat super-majority is blind to anything but their twin goals of more power and putting our nation fully on the Socialist track.

We have just one recourse.

In 2010, throw out the Democrats. Elect Republicans and charge them with the responsibility to:
  • repeal Obamacare and write REAL health care reform that will preserve the free market and freedom of choice;
  • start our nation back on the track of debt reduction. Save our children from the terrible debt burden that will destroy this nation;
  • restore the Constitution to the standard for Congress and the courts.
And that’s just a start! Get informed, and get going! We’ve got work to do!

Michael Steel and the Southern Strategy
By Michael Zak, historian

_David Weigel, at The Washington Post, asked me to comment on Michael Steele's view of the so-called Southern Strategy.

Speaking at DePaul University on April 20, RNC Chairman Michael Steele urged Republican leaders to work with the Tea Parties. He has the right approach, to which I would add the fact, per my article on BigGovernment.com, that The Republican Party began as a Tea Party Movement.

Steele then went on to say:
"We have lost sight of the historic, integral link between the party and African-Americans. This party was co-founded by blacks, among them Frederick Douglass. The Republican Party had a hand in forming the NAACP, and yet we have mistreated that relationship. People don't walk away from parties. Their parties walk away from them. For the last 40- plus years we had a 'Southern Strategy' that alienated many minority voters by focusing on the white male vote in the South. Well, guess what happened in 1992, folks, 'Bubba' went back home to the Democratic Party and voted for Bill Clinton."
Chairman Steele makes an interesting point, but he is accepting as true the Democrat version of events. The theme of Back to Basics for the Republican Party is that celebrating our party's heritage is not just for minority outreach but for all Republicans to appreciate that the GOP has been a great force for good ever since being founded in 1854 to oppose the Democrats' pro-slavery, anti-freedom agenda. I drew on that record of achievement in writing the historical information on the RNC website, also posted as Heroes and Heroics.

Chairman Steele's analysis of the so-called "southern strategy" is a bit too simplistic and could use some historical context. Since the end of Reconstruction the GOP scarcely existed in most of the South until the 1950s. In fact, in 1952 the Republican Party was so weak there that Dwight Eisenhower had to rely on "Veterans for Eisenhower" organizations to conduct much of his campaign in the region.

So firm was the Democrat grip on the white southern vote that prior to Richard Nixon's 1960 campaign, no Republican presidential candidate had ever done much campaigning in the South. That year he broke new ground by deciding to campaign in every state. Prior to legislative advances of the civil rights movement -- initiated by the GOP's 1957 and 1960 Civil Rights Acts -- few African-Americans could vote in the Democrat-controlled South. As a result, Nixon's campaigning in southern states was perforce directed toward the people who could vote there, mostly the whites.

Regarding his decision to campaign in the South as some kind of cynical ploy is to ignore Nixon's civil rights achievements while serving as Eisenhower's vice president. He was instrumental in breaking the Democrat filibuster against the 1957 Civil Rights Act and called for racial integration of public schools long before John Kennedy or Lyndon Johnson did.

As I often say in my speeches, "The more we Republicans know about the history of our party, the more the Democrats will worry about the future of theirs." See www.grandoldpartisan.com for more information.

GLENN BECK: American Heading Toward the Wrong Tracks

Glenn Beck, national conservative talk show host, is doing his best to educate America. His railroad track analogy does a great job of helping us understand the European system of Socialism and how close we are to becoming a Socialist nation.

In Europe, it’s been kings and rulers, (then) fascists and communists that are the left and right rails of the track that carries the European train. In 1791, America diverged from those tracks.

What ties Europe’s two rails together? SOCIALISM.

How do you build a railroad track? You have to put down the ties first. Once you get the ties down then you lay the rails. Laying the rails is the easy part.

You have to get the FOUNDATION right first. It’s taken PROGRESSIVES a hundred years (to change the foundation) of America because our railroad ties were different a hundred years ago. And we have purposely neglected them, been told to neglect them, been told to dismiss them so they would fall in disrepair.

What is the engine that runs on this track? THE FREE MARKET! That’s where progress comes from.
It wasn’t a government that invented the light bulb. It wasn’t the government that came up with the assembly line. It wasn’t the government that came up with the potbelly stove. It was people using the principles (the railroad ties) of the Constitution and equal justice, holding our tracks together on the right road that allows that FREE MARKET engine to push forward and create whatever it is you want to create.

What do you build if you’re on the communist track? Light bulbs? NO. GULAGS.

What do you build if you’re on the Nazi track? Automobiles? NO. DEATH CAMPS.

What happened to the FREE MARKET engine in America?

People are saying the free market is evil, the free market is bad. No, the free market just IS. It’s running on railroad ties that have been disassembled and are in disrepair. The rails are crooked and they are not running right. PROGRESSIVES have brought this American FREE MARKET train back down to the European railroad ties and rails, which is SOCIALISM.

That’s the tie: SOCIALISM. On the right rail in Europe, it’s Nazism and fascism. In Europe on the left rail, it’s communism. And SOCIALISM is what ties them together and allows both of them to run. It’s BIG GOVERNMENT socialized structure.

What are the ties in America? Faith, hope, charity, self-reliance, personal responsibility, accountability, honesty, integrity. They are the values and principles that are the ties. And they have been disintegrating. We haven’t been updating them. We haven’t been refreshing them. We haven’t been shoring them up. We’ve been taking them apart.

In America, what are the rails?

The first rail is the Constitution and the second rail is equal justice under the law. Washington said we’re a nation of laws, not of men. Meaning, Timothy Geithner, PAY YOUR TAXES! I have to. Meaning, you know and I know that if I did what Goldman Sachs did or any of these other weasels that are not being pointed out, I wouldn’t be getting bailed out. I’d go to jail; so would you. EQUAL JUSTICE.

It’s what Martin Luther King fought for. Now it’s been perverted. King didn’t say I want more justice. He said I want equal justice. Martin Luther King said, I have a dream. Where white children and black children can play together, can be together. That you will judge a man by the content of his character, not the color of his skin.

We’re talking about appointing a Supreme Court justice on diversity. Diversity? We should have CHARACTER! CHARACTER is a railroad tie, and we were told a decade ago that character doesn’t matter. YES IT DOES!
CHARACTER doesn’t matter in the European style system. If you have socialism, character doesn’t matter. Position matters. Power maters. Character doesn’t matter.

We cannot fix the free market system, because it’s not broken. The RAILROAD TIES are broken. Faith hope and charity are the answers. You’ve got to fix YOU!

The answer isn’t more government. YOU make the difference in your own life. Commit yourself today. I will be honest in all of my business dealings. I will be honest in everything I do. No matter what that truth is, I will seek the truth.

Seeking truth is a never-ending journey….

Thank God of our Founding Father, because it’s my right to pursue it because it makes me happy to pursue the truth. And that pursuit is going to cause tension.

Many Americans want to continue to live the lie that you can have everything, that character doesn’t matter, that you can rack up debt and it doesn’t matter. Getting them out of that lie is going to be uncomfortable.

But tension – struggle – is good. Violence is bad.

…Glenn Beck, Wednesday, April 21, 2010.

Benton Co. Republican Newsletter: Local Media Supports Tea Parties (4/19)

“If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” --Ronald Reagan, 39th president of the United States of America.

Tea Party participant Lori Rentz of Corvallis, dressed as the Statute of Liberty, made the Portland TV News and the front page of the Oregonian! Here’s the KPTV link. On Thursday, April 15, thousands of Oregonians came together to celebrate freedom. They made a powerful statement to our government that it must return to operating within its Constitutional limits. THANK YOU TO THE HUNDRED OF PEOPLE IN BENTON COUNTY WHO PARTICIPATED!

What the ‘tea partiers’ want, Hasso Hering’s Commentary (appearing Albany D-H, Corvallis G-T on Sunday, April 18) - Now that we’ve had some more “tea party” events in the mid-valley and the rest of the state, we know that the detractors are wrong when they roundly dismiss these citizens as “extremists” or slander them as right-wing nuts….what’s wrong with and lighthearted approach to serious concerns?....

So what do these tea party people want?

“Save the Constitution,” said the sign of veteran in a wheelchair at the Corvallis rally on Thursday. Egads! How extremist can you get?

“Vote them all out,” said another. It may not be practical and it won’t happen considering how rigged our political system is to protect incumbents. But it’s not exactly a radical notion. In theory our system is built on the idea that citizens are represented by legislators from their own ranks who rotate out of office after a few terms. Nothing in the state or federal constitutions suggests the drafters had in mind a permanent class of political rulers insulated from the public and protected, on the pretext of preventing corruption, by regulations making it hard to run for office.

At the Albany rally, many of the people said they were concerned about the government debt and about taxes rising under President Obama.

The debt is a legitimate worry. It has been going up for a long time, but lately it has shot up like a rocket. So it’s healthy for more people to get concerned, and there’s nothing extremist about it at all.

The tea party demonstrators are against “socialism,” which immediately causes critics to challenge them to forgo veterans’ and Social Security benefits or be proved hypocrites. But those are benefits the recipients have earned, sometimes at the risk of their lives, and in the case of Social Security by a lifetime of paying into the system.

The kind of “socialism” the tea partiers are against is the kind that vastly expands the powers of government over everyone under the pretext of helping people who can’t help themselves or have made little effort to try.

But as the signs and flags and comments show, the most important thing the tea party protesters want is to hold on to the personal the economic freedom that Americans have by tradition enjoyed.

Our freedom is slipping away because of diverse forces – among them the effects of multiplying laws and regulations as well as corporations, technology and globalization.

Party functionaries and status-quo defenders may see any countervailing thought or force as out of step. We should be glad there are at least a few who are willing to stand up and shout” Stop! (hh)

The Republican Party Freed the Slaves in the District of Columbia
Republicans would benefit tremendously from appreciating the heritage of our Grand Old Party, founded in 1854 to oppose the Democrats' pro-slavery, anti-freedom agenda.

As they campaign for the mid-term elections, Republicans should ignore the lefty media spin and recognize that they hold the moral high ground. From the first chapter of Back to Basics for the Republican Party: "How can we expect to convince voters to place their confidence in us when we lack confidence in our own heritage."

Last Friday, the nation's capital celebrated Emancipation Day. In his proclamation, the Democrat mayor, Adrian Fenty, omits something very important: the holiday commemorates the Republican Party's abolition of slavery in the District of Columbia. That's right, the Republican Party freed the slaves in DC. And yes, the Democratic Party opposed freeing the slaves in DC -- a fact which Democrats today dare not mention.

During the Civil War, one of the nation's leading abolitionists was Senator Henry Wilson (R-MA), who would later serve as Vice President in the Ulysses Grant administration. In December 1861, Senator Wilson introduced a bill to abolish slavery in the District. The measure met with parliamentary obstacles from the Democrats, but Ben Wade (R-OH) outmaneuvered them. Six years later, had the bitterly racist Democrat, Andrew Johnson, been convicted during his impeachment trial, Senator Wade would have become President of the United States.

On April 16, 1862, the Republican-controlled 37th Congress passed Senator Wilson's bill. Overall, 99% of Republicans voted to free the slaves in the District of Columbia, while 83% of Democrats voted to keep them in chains. That day, the GOP freed more than three thousand African-Americans. Among them was Philip Reid, who while enslaved had made the statue that stands atop the dome of the U.S. Capitol.

While serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, Abraham Lincoln sponsored a bill to abolish slavery in Washington, DC. As President, he proudly signed the District of Columbia Emancipation Act, announcing "I have never doubted the constitutional authority of congress to abolish slavery in this District; and I have ever desired to see the national capital freed from the institution." Emancipation Day finally arrived, thanks to Republican majorities in Congress.

The County Sheriff: America's Last Hope

Sheriff Mack's newest book covers decades of research to prove once and for all that the sheriffs in this country are indeed the ultimate law authority in their respective jurisdictions. The sheriff absolutely has the power and responsiblity to defend his citizens against all enemies, including those from our own Federal Government. History, case law, common law and common sense all show clear evidence that the sheriff is the people's protector in all issues of injustice and is responsible for keeping the peace in all matters. He is the last line of defense for his constituents; he is America's last hope to regain our forgotten freedom.

Have you read Conservative Victory by Sean Hannity?

Sean Hannity has been sounding the alarms about Obama and his agenda from the start. Now—in his first new book in six years—he issues a stirring call to action. Hannity surveys all the major Obama players—from the president's affiliation with radical theology to his advisers' history of Marxist activism, repression of the media, support for leftist dictators, and worse. He exposes their resulting campaign to dismantle the American free-market system and forfeit our national sovereignty. But he draws on the examples of Ronald Reagan and the GOP's Contract with America to show how conservatives can unite behind this country's most cherished principles and act now to get America back on the right track—while we still can.

Newsletter 3/7/10: Tired of Liberals Running your State/Country?

Benton Co. Republicans Newsletter
In this issue:
  • A Message from Chairman Bob Tiernan, "Why You Should Become a PCP"
  • Speak Up for Protection for our Active Duty Military and Retired Veterans!

Why You Should Become a PCP

How can you make a difference? Have you considered becoming a precinct Committee Person in your Precinct? PCPs are the lifeblood of the Republican Party. PCPs are the first elective office. You should become a PCP:
  • If you want to have the power to truly influence the direction of your party
  • If you want to have a say in which candidates are nominated
  • If you’re tired of standing by, complaining while liberals run your state—and your country
PCPs have a voice in what’s happening. As a PCP you’ll
  • Elect the leaders of the Benton County Republican Central Committee
  • Elect the delegates who go to the state and national Republican conventions
  • Your vote will help ensure that these delegates reflect your values and principles.
PCPs can get directly involved!
  • Learn how you can help candidates with their campaigns.
  • Recruit and organize volunteers.
  • Help with fundraising.
  • Leverage your organizational, motivational and managements skills in the service of your principles and ideals.
  • If you don’t possess these skills, being a PCP can help you develop them.
Be the face of the Republican Party in your precinct.
  • Get to know your neighbors and expand your circle of acquaintances.
  • Register new voters
What are the requirements to be a PCP?
  • Live in Benton County
  • Be registered as a Republican for at least 180 days before the May 18, 2010 election.
The deadline to register as a PCP candidate is Tuesday, March 9. To have a registration form delivered to your door, please e-mail bentoncorepublicans@gmail.com TODAY. You can do this by replying HERE. And thank you for serving our Party.

Speak Up for Protection for our Active Duty Military and Retired Veterans!
  • Attend the "Support the Troops" rallies each Thursday from 12 NOON TO 1 P.M. at the corner of Philomath Blvd. and 53rd Streets.
  • Write the Chairman of the Committee on Armed Services in both the House and the Senate and ask them to lead support for currently serving and retired service members and the families and survivors.
Here are the issues:
  • Sustain the Defense budget at levels required to meet pressing needs for both personnel and weapons/equipment programs.

    • Some are tempted to cut back on personnel and family support programs because of mounting deficits. That would be a tragic mistake.
    • The planned build-up of forces in Afghanistan will increase deployment requirements and significant increase the heavy burdens imposed on military families.
    • Our military faces increased risk of traumatic injuries from repeated deployments. This may cause major retention problems. Making sure that our fighting force’s loved ones are not suffering from deprivation lessens the stress on our military men and women.

  • Protect the military and its retirees against unintended adverse consequences from national health care reform or VA health coverage, including Tricare for Life. In addition, guard against disproportional fee increases, such as those proposed in the recent past.
The uniformed services community is grateful for Congress’ strong support on these issues in the past. They depend on the Armed Services Committee to continue its leadership in support of those currently serving, as well as retired service members and their families and survivors.

Please address correspondence to:

NEWS TIDBITS

Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Chairman Joe Lieberman (I-CT) will launch an investigation into Army handling of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan in the period prior to the shooting rampage at Ft. Hood last week.

President Obama is considering four options on Afghan troop levels, but has not decided on a course of action for Afghanistan.

The White House has set a December 31st deadline for health care reform legislation to be passed.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he will bring health care legislation to the floor next week. He also added that it is realistic for the Senate to pass a bill by Christmas.

Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Chairman Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) revealed his first draft of sweeping financial reform legislation this week.

Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) says the health care vote could result in a GOP takeover of Congress next year.

GOP Leaders are spending the Veteran's Day recess talking about the devastating effects of Pelosicare on the economy and the American health insurance system.

Rep. Curt Shrader (D-Oregon, U.S. Congressional District 5) recently sent out an expensive 4-page brochure at taxpayer expense touting the Shrader Veterans Forum where speakers and a panel will discuss VA benefits and veterans issues pending before Congress. We hope that Shrader’s support of vets is sincere and that he’s not just on a bandwagon right around Veterans Day to gain supporters. His predecessor Darlene Hooley used veteran’s issues to garner support and to be reelected in a predominantly Republican district, and it looks like Rep. Shrader is trying to do the same thing. Rep. Shrader dodged those who wanted to express their concerns about health care last August. Why is he so afraid of standing before his constituents to hear the truth?

OBAMA’S LAWYERS KEEP OUR PRESIDENT A MAN OF MYSTERY
This article is a synopsis of a report by Steve Baldwin
Imagine what would happen if President Bush or President Reagan had done the things that are alleged against Pres. Barak Obama?

Why do we know less about President Obama than perhaps any other president in American history? Much of this is because of efforts to hide his record. This should concern all Americans.

Obama’s high priced lawyers have built walls around various records or simply made them disappear. It is estimated that Obama’s legal team has now spent well over $1.4 million dollars blocking access to documents every American should have access to. The president who campaigned for “full disclosure” will not unseal his medical records, his school records, his birth records or his passport records. He will not release his Harvard records, his Columbia College records, or his Occidental College records—he will not even release his Columbia College thesis. All his legislative records from the Illinois State Senate are missing and he claims his scheduling records during those State Senate years are lost as well. Why would Obama spend so much money doing this? What is he hiding?
  1. There are questions about how he paid for his Harvard Law School education. Michele Obama says he had student loans. No one can find any evidence to support this claim. It appears that his Harvard education may have been paid for by a foreign source. An advisor to the Saudi prince Al-Walid bin Talah said he was raising money for Obama’s Harvard tuition. This admission opens up speculation as to whether Muslim interests have assisted Obama’s career in the hope he would eventually be in a position to promote their interests.

  2. Obama’s Selective Service card may have been doctored. There is solid evidence that Obama’s Selective Service registration form was submitted not when he was younger as required, but rather in 2008 and then altered to look older. The forger forgot to alter the “document Location Number” which shows that it is clearly a 2008 forgery. This is fraud and a felony. Why did Obama not submit this form as a teenager? Did he assume his Kenyan or Indonesian citizenship exempted him from this requirement?

  3. The most perplexing mystery is Obama’s social security number. It appears that Obama has multiple identities in terms of possessing numerous Social Security numbers.

An investigation of Obama’s social security numbers and former addresses in his home state of Illinois revealed 16 different addresses Barak Obama is known to have lived at. Two Social Security numbers were used in connection with these addresses, one beginning with 042 and one starting with 364.

In California, where Obama attended Occidental College, there are six addresses listed for him, all within easy driving distance of the college. There are three Social Security numbers connected to these addresses, 537 and two others each beginning with 999.

There are no addresses listed in New York where he attended Columbia University, but there is one listed for him in nearby Jackson, NJ, with a Social Security number beginning with 485.

In Massachusetts where Obama attended Harvard Law School we find three addresses all using the 042 Social Security number. After Obama was elected to the US Senate in 2005, he moved into an apartment at 300 Massachusetts Av NW. The Social Security number attached to that address was the 042 one.

Yet, three years later, Obama used a different Social Security number for an address listed as: 713 Hart Senate Office building (the address of the US Senate office). This Social Security number began with 282 and was verified by the government in 2008.

Even stranger, other addresses and Social Security numbers for Barack Obama appear in a dozen other states not known to be connected with him. Tennessee, an address with a SS# beginning with 427; Colorado, an address with a SS# beginning with 456; Utah, two addresses with two SS#s beginning with 901 and 799; Missouri, one address and one SS# beginning with 999; Florida, two addresses, one connected to a SS# beginning with 762; Georgia, three addresses listed for him, with SS#s 579, 420 and 423; Texas, four different addresses listed for him, and one is connected to SS# 675. That totals up to 49 addresses and 16 different Social Security numbers listed.

The Social Security number that Obama most frequently used, the one beginning with 042, is a number issued in Connecticut sometime during 1976-1977, yet there is no record of Obama ever living or working in Connecticut. During this time period, Obama would have been 15-16 years old and living in Hawaii.

Why would a person have multiple Social Security numbers? For criminal activity? Deception? Money laundering? Not always, but very frequently, say investigators. Because of this it is important that investigators continue their work.

An interesting aside: Obama’s grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, was a volunteer at the Oahu Circuit Court probate department and had access to the Social Security numbers of deceased people. She is not being accused of any untoward activities, but her possible role will continue to be looked at.

  4. Obama’s mother and grandparents associated with Communist Party leaders. Frank Marshall Davis, who Obama described as his main mentor during much of his Hawaiian boyhood, was named by congressional investigators during the Cold War as a key member of a secretive pro-Soviet network that existed in Hawaii at that time. Investigators cannot find documents to substantiate the marriages of Obama’s mother or his grandparents. They cannot find birth certificates for them, nor can they find any record of military service for his grandfather, although Obama brags about this. Much of Obama’s life, his mother’s life and his grandparent’s life has been erased from the records as if they never existed.
Much more investigation needs to be done on this. The Western Center for Journalism is searching for the truth. To learn more about it, go to http://www.westernjournalism.com/?page_id=3255

Newsletter: Benton Co. Republicans, Nov. 1, 2009

“One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. . . .Now, the American people, if you put it to them about socialized medicine and gave them a chance to choose, would unhesitatingly vote against it.” --Ronald Reagan, (1961)

Rep. Michelle Bachman (R-Minn.) wants you to meet her on the steps of the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, November 5, at noon. She will walk with you through the Capitol Building to the offices of her constituents so you can deliver your message about Pelosi’s 1900+ page health care bill. Then she will accompany you to the gallery of the room where the House of Representatives will hear testimony on the health care bill, The Crown Jewel of Socialism.

A TeaParty bus [Tea Party Express II: Countdown to Judgment Day], filled with enthusiastic patriots and headed for Washington D.C., stopped in Portland yesterday at Michael’s Sausage Co. where 600+ people (including some from Benton & Linn counties) met them and wished them safe travel. What’s the Pelosi Prescription for Govt-run Healthcare?
The Heritage Foundation, Friday, Oct 30, 2009

Here’s the plan:
  • Force all Americans to buy health insurance, regulate the private plans till they are too expensive, and then slowly expand the power and size of the public option as Americans are left with no choice but to turn to government run health care. That is how Pelosi aims to achieve Obama’s goal of “Everybody in, Nobody out” government run health care.

  • The costs are going to be staggering. Not only will health care quality and choice suffer as more and more Americans are forced onto a government plan that reimburses providers at low government set rates, but the price tag is guaranteed to skyrocket. The only way the House managed to keep their price tag as low as $1.05 trillion is by pretending that Congress would cut Medicare reimbursement rates by 20% in 2010. The full ten-year cost of being honest about the Medicare reimbursement rates would be $250 billion.

  • Less choice, lower quality health care, and trillion dollar deficits for years to come: that is the House’s prescription for health reform.
Last Monday, Sen. Harry Reid introduced his version of a health care bill in the Senate.
Write your U.S. legislators and tell them what’s important to you in any health care reform. Reports are that Pelosi’s bill will be brought onto the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday.

It’s About Time!
In the wake of plunging support, Republican Dierdre Scozzafava suspended her campaign yesterday for a U.S. House seat in a special election. She thinks stepping aside is best for the Party.

The announcement comes after a poll found she was in third place with 20 percent of the vote in the heavily upstate New York district that is heavily Republican. Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman and Democratic nominee Bill Owens were too close to call with 35 percent and 36 percent, respectively.

The development consolidates Republican voters behind the conservative candidate and improves the Party’s chances of retaining the seat in the 23rd Congressional District. Big name Republicans like Sarah Palin and former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson threw their support behind Hoffman, and money poured into his campaign from all over the country.

The election is Tuesday. Scozzafava, a member of the New York legislature, was chosen as the Republican candidate by Republican leaders in 11 counties, even though Scozzafava is more liberal than half the Democrats in the New York State legislature. The Party is accused of picking a candidate who doesn’t represent the true Republican party.

Many people say that a conservative Republican is what people are looking for, not a Republican who acts like a Democrat. We can see what big spending, corruption, and lack of principles regarding illegal immigration got us: back to back election defeats in 2006 and 2008. In the Republican National Committee (RNC) election of a new chairman, speaker after speaker said that to win, Republicans must be more moderate. Republican legislators surely weren’t conservative when they were spending and spending, or when they tried to grant amnesty to illegal aliens.

That’s why so many in New York’s 23rd Congressional District are turning to the Constitution Party’s Doug Hoffman to be their next Congressman.

Religious Freedom Is At Risk
What is properly called our “First Freedom,” the free exercise of religion, is under attack, said Elder Dallin H. Oaks in a recent talk at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho.

There is a battle over the meaning of that freedom,” Elder Oaks said. “the contest is of eternal importance. It is your generation that must understand the issues and make the efforts to prevail.”

Referencing the religious rights and freedoms available to people living in the United states by the creation of a constitution by inspired men, Elder Oaks said that the guarantee of religious freedom in the U.S. Constitution “should make us ever diligent to defend it,” he added.

“Truly, this nation’s most important export is its Constitution, whose great principles stand as a model for ‘the rights and protection of all flesh.’ On the vital human right of religious freedom, many nations’ constitutions fall short of the protections that are needed. We are grateful that the United States seeks to encourage religious freedom all over the world. This freedom comes from God.”

“The greatest infringements of religious freedom occur when the exercise of religion collides with other powerful forces in society. Among the most threatening collisions in the United States today are, one, the rising strength of those who seek to silence religious voices in public debates; and, two, perceived conflicts between religious freedom and the popular appeal of newly alleged civil rights.

“The extent and nature of religious devotion in this nation is changing,” said Elder Oakes. “The tide in public opinion in favor of religion is receding, and this probably portends public pressures for laws that will impinge on religious freedom.

“It was the Christian principles of human worth and dignity that made possible the formation of the United States Constitution over 200 years ago, and only those principles in the hearts of a majority of our diverse population can sustain that Constitution today. Religious values and political realities are so interlinked in the origin and perpetuation of this nation that we cannot lose the influence of Christianity in the public square without seriously jeopardizing our freedoms. “I maintain that this is a political fact, well qualified for argument in the public square by religious people whose freedom to believe and act must always be protected by the Constitution of the United States,” said Elder Oaks.

Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”
Alinsky's Rules for Radicals: "Known as the 'father of modern American radicalism,' Saul D. Alinsky (1909-1972) developed strategies and tactics that take the enormous, unfocused emotional energy of grassroots groups and transform it into effective anti-government and anti-corporate activism. ... Some of these rules are ruthless, but they work." Republicans must be aware of what these tactics are so they can recognize them and counteract them.

7. Tactics
"Tactics are those conscious deliberate acts by which human beings live with each other and deal with the world around them. ... Here our concern is with the tactic of taking; how the Have-Nots can take power away from the Haves." p.126

Always remember the first rule of power tactics (pps.127-134):
  1. "Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have."
  2. "Never go outside the expertise of your people. When an action or tactic is outside the experience of the people, the result is confusion, fear and retreat.... [and] the collapse of communication.
  3. "Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy. Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty. (This happens all the time. Watch how many organizations under attack are blind-sided by seemingly irrelevant arguments that they are then forced to address.)
  4. "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity."
  5. "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage."
  6. "A good tactic is one your people enjoy."
  7. "A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag. Man can sustain militant interest in any issue for only a limited time...."
  8. "Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose."
  9. "The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself."
  10. "The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign."
  11. "If you push a negative hard and deep enough, it will break through into its counterside... every positive has its negative."
  12. "The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative."
  13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and 'frozen.'...

"...any target can always say, 'Why do you center on me when there are others to blame as well?' When your 'freeze the target,' you disregard these [rational but distracting] arguments.... Then, as you zero in and freeze your target and carry out your attack, all the 'others' come out of the woodwork very soon. They become visible by their support of the target...'

"One acts decisively only in the conviction that all the angels are on one side and all the devils on the other." (pps.127-134)

Lord Monckton of Brenchley Warns of Dangers in Signing Cap and Trade Treaty

In a passionate plea for Americans to wake up and tell Pres. Obama not to sign the Copenhagen Treaty, British Lord Christopher Monckton warned of dire consequences for the United States.

Lord Monckton, whose full title is 3rd Viscount Monckton of Brenchley, said that the purpose of the Copenhagen Treaty (an enlargement of the Kyoto Treaty) is the vast transfer of wealth from the West to third world countries. Western countries, especially the U.S., will be required to pay reparation for “climate debt”, a tax of up to 2% of GNP each year, he said.

Stating clearly that Pres. Obama is not trying to bring the U.S. into Socialism, but rather into Communism, Lord Monckton said that signing the Copenhagen Treaty will set up a world government (New World Order?). He said that right after the Berlin Wall came down, the former leaders of the Soviet Union began to build a “green” movement. Today, Michael Gorbechev is the darling of the Green Party and his doctrines and plans include sustainability and global warming.

After analyzing the actual document that will be presented to Pres. Obama for his signature, Lord Monckton says that the words “democracy,” “vote,” and “election” do not appear in the Copenhagen Treaty’s document. Our consent now will render us powerless to interfere later in the administration of the Treaty, says Lord Monckton. The U.S. will be handing power over our Constitution to a foreign entity.

Lord Monckton says that Pres. Obama WILL sign the Treaty unless we mount a huge effort to convince him that it will be political suicide. His vote must be ratified by 2/3 of the U.S. Senate in order to be effective.

Czar Accountability Is Questionable

Are the new wage control schemes launched by the Pay Czar and the Fed the acts of independent experts, or are they the closely controlled policy decisions of the Obama White House?

The answer to that question goes to the core of the very real constitutional problems that the proliferation of czars in the Obama administration creates. Obama appointed Feinberg to be his Pay Czar without any input from the American people and without any approval from Congress. Heritage fellow Matthew Spalding explained the problem in his recent testimony to Congress:
The issue is not whether the proliferation of “czars” amounts to a usurpation of power by the executive branch. Rather, the fundamental issue is how the rise of modern administrative government has put us in an unsolvable dilemma: whether policy should be made by technical experts, insulated from public accountability and control, or whether policy should be made by our elected representatives in Congress and the executive branch. The rise of government by bureaucrats–due to the delegation of power from Congress to administrative agencies, combined with the removal of those agencies from the President’s control–has given rise to efforts by Presidents from both parties to get the bureaucratic state under control through various mechanisms. The rise of “czars” in the current administration is just another manifestation–albeit, an unfortunate one–of this phenomenon.
If the American people did want hold the Fed and the Pay Czar accountable for their wage control decisions, right now there is no way for them to do so.

Reformers Locked Out Of Reform Committee Room
By Tim Cameron on October 21, 2009 1:22 PM | Section: Reform & Corruption. From Newt Gingrich’s American Solutions

It's not hard to argue that government reform is taking a big step in the wrong direction when the Government Oversight & Reform Committee Chairman Ed Towns is doing everything in his power to stop an investigation into sweetheart mortgage deals issued by Countrywide Financial to Sens. Chris Dodd and Kent Conrad. The Ranking Committee Member Darrell Issa has been leading the charge for a formal House investigation, but his efforts have resulted in Rep. Towns literally locking Rep. Issa out of the process. Rep. Towns told Rep. Issa and other Republican committee members today that the locks on the doors of the committee room had been changed and that they wouldn't be getting a key despite the fact the room for the Oversight & Reform Committee was paid for and is maintained by our taxpayer dollars.

House Bill Raises, Not Lowers, Health Care Costs

The Chief Actuary in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in the Obama Health and Human Services department issued a memorandum late yesterday looking at the potential impact of the House health reform legislation (H.R. 3200). As the Associated Press and other media outlets have been reporting, the study shows that- among other things- the legislation would, as President Obama promised, bend the health care cost curve … but in the wrong direction.

The findings suggest that if the House legislation were enacted, President Obama would be breaking his long standing promise that reform would reduce rapidly growing health care costs. Although the President has continually argued that Americans spend too much on health care, and that under reform they would spend less, the new HHS report finds the opposite is likely to occur under the House legislation. Here are some key findings from the HHS memorandum:
  • The legislation would increase total national health expenditures in the U.S. by about 2.1 percent during the period between 2010 and 2019.
  • As a share of gross domestic product (GDP) health care spending would grow to 21.3 percent compared to 20.8 estimated under current law.
  • The bill carries a price tag of about $1 trillion dollars (from 2013 to 2019), which does not even represent a full 10-year cost estimate.
  • The measure is likely to deliver only small savings despite the many provisions intended to reduce the growth in health care costs.
  • While the proposal might cover 34 million uninsured it would still leave 23 million people without coverage, including as many as 18 million Americans who would remain uninsured and face a new tax penalty.
  • More than 50 percent of the new coverage gains under the bill (18 million out of 34 million) would come from expansions in the Medicaid program.
  • 40 percent of those obtaining coverage through a newly established health insurance exchange could be enrolled in the public option.
  • Cuts to the popular Medicare Advantage program for seniors could have the effect of reducing enrollment by 64 percent, with projected enrollment in 2014 falling from 13.2 million to only 4.7 million seniors.
  • And, all told, the plan puts new strains on health care providers which could lead to price increases, increased cost-shifting onto the privately insured, and/or compromised access to high quality care.
In sum, the findings in the report aren’t pretty. Let’s just hope the White House and Democrats in Congress got the memo.

Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky
Did you ever say, “How can American have changed so much in such a short time?” Here’s the key. Learn how Communists, when they couldn’t foment revolution in the ‘60s, changed their tactics and began practicing the neo-Marxist tactics of the Alinskys.

"True revolutionaries do not flaunt their radicalism, Alinsky taught. They cut their hair, put on suits and infiltrate the system from within. Alinsky viewed revolution as a slow, patient process. The trick was to penetrate existing institutions such as churches, unions and political parties....

Today we’ll print a few excerpts from chapter 5, Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky, titled 5. Communication [Notice the emphasis on conflict, dialogue, relationships, etc. Team "service" is essential to building strong relationships through "common involvements"]
"And so the guided questioning goes on without anyone losing face or being left out of the decision-making. Every weakness of every proposed tactic is probed by questions.... Is this manipulation? Certainly...." p.88

"One of the factors that changes what you can and can't communicate is relationships. There are sensitive areas that one does not touch until there is a strong personal relationship based on common involvements. Otherwise the other party turns off and literally does not hear....

"Conversely, if you have a good relationship, he is very receptive.... For example, I have always believed that birth control and abortion are personal rights to be exercised by the individual. If, in my early days when I organized... neighborhood in Chicago, which was 95 per cent Roman Catholic, I had tried to communicate this, even through the experience of the residents, whose economic plight was aggravated by large families, that would have been the end of my relationship with the community. That instant I would have been stamped as an enemy of the church and all communication would have ceased.

"Some years later, after establishing solid relationships, I was free to talk about anything.... By then the argument was no longer limited to such questions as, 'How much longer do you think the Catholic Church can hang on to this archaic notion and still survive?' ...the subject and nature of the discussion would have been unthinkable without that solid relationship." pp.93-94

Merkley tries to dilute 'Audit the Fed' legislation
Sen. Merkley (D-OR) tries to dilute bill requiring government financial disclosure, audit of Federal Reserve Legislation that would bring a full audit of the Federal Reserve Bank, Congressman Ron Paul's H.R. 1207 and its Senate companion S. 604, has gained strong grassroots support and built tremendous pressure on banking special interests.

But Oregon’s Sen. Merkely is a co-sponsor of the Federal Reserve Accountability Act, an attempted compromise on the issue of transparency for America's secretive central bank. The bill would permit an audit of the Fed's actions in the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) and similar high profile bailouts, but would not allow Congress to review the Fed's inflation of the money supply or the its agreements with foreign central banks.

We must audit the Feds in order to ensure their accountability. Write Sens. Merkley and Wyden and tell them NO! on S. 1830 and YES! on S. 604. Make the secretive Federal Reserve accountable!

Newsletter: Benton Co. Republicans, Sept. 7, TEA Party, Costuitution Day

The American’s Creed
I believe in the United States as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States, a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.

I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag and to defend it against all enemies, foreign and domestic. --- written in 1917 by William Tyler Page; accepted by the U.S. House of Representatives April 3, 1918

ORP Chair Tiernan Responds to Kitzhaber Candidacy Announcement

“At a time when Oregon’s unemployment is among the highest in the country and our own state economists predict that our economic recovery will be slow with tough times ahead, Oregonians deserve new ideas and solutions to get our economy and state headed in the right direction.

John Kitzhaber’s candidacy represents more of the same – higher taxes and increased government spending – instead of ideas to lead our state in a new direction. You don’t have to look any farther than the $2 billion in new taxes and fees passed by the Legislature this session.

Kitzhaber supports these new taxes and new higher government spending, including the two massive job-killing taxes that will be rejected by the people of Oregon in January,” Chairman Tiernan said.

“John Kitzhaber and the Democrats have had their chance to lead Oregon and look where it’s gotten us – the highest income tax and the 5th highest unemployment in the nation. Oregonians want a new direction and new ideas for our state and that won’t include John Kitzhaber as Governor again,” concluded Chairman Tiernan.

TIDBITS

Patsy Anderson sends word that President Barack Obama's "Green Jobs Czar" quit Saturday after pressure mounted over his extremist history. The last straw for Jones was being caught on tape in an expletive-packed rant, directly attacking Republicans in the Senate who he said abused their majority position in the past to push legislation through. He admitted after the statements were released that the comments were "inappropriate" and "offensive." "They do not reflect the experience I have had since joining the administration," Jones said in the statement.

Jones was also linked late last week to efforts suggesting a government role in the Sept. 11 terror attacks and to derogatory comments about Republicans.

With the help of the Obama administration, a coalition is launching a public relations campaign to try to change 9/11 from a day of reflection and remembrance (which they consider to be tools of the Republicans) to a day of activism, food banks, and community gardens. The administration's plans were outlined in an Aug. 11 White House-sponsored teleconference call run by Obama ally Lennox Yearwood, president of the Hip Hop Caucus, and Liv Havstad, the group's senior vice president of strategic partnerships and programs. At no time does anyone explain why this National Day of Service has to be held -- of all the 365 days in a year -- on Sept. 11.

Michelle Malkin reports the Obama administration says money from pharmaceutical firms and the health care industry is dirty, evil and corrupting—except when key members of team Obama are pocketing it. Three weeks ago, the White House embraced $150 million in drug industry ads supporting Obamacare. Last week, Bloomberg News reported that White House senior adviser and chief campaign strategist David Axelrod’s former public relations firm AKPD Message and Media, has raked in some $24 million in ad contracts supporting Obamacare—along with another PR firm, GMMB, run by other Obama strategists. The ads are funded by Big Pharama, AARP, AMA and Service Employees International Union (which dumped $80 million in independent expenditures to get Mr. Obama and the Democratic majority elected).

Obama’s Popularity Plummets (from Charles Krauthammer, “Obama the Mortal”, Friday, September 4, 2009)

What happened to bring Pres. Obama’s popularity down further than that of any new president in polling history save Gerald Ford? From 80% approval to somewhere between 42% and 49%, depending on the pollster, is a huge drop!
  1. Obama’s extreme leftist associates mirror his attitudes. His vision of America, beginning with his first address to Congress, contained the boldest far-left social democratic manifesto ever issued by a U.S. president.
  2. Pres. Obama greatly misread his mandate. Winning by a mere seven points in a year of true economic catastrophe, of a very unpopular republican incumbent and a politically weak and unsteady opponent, Obama nevertheless imagined that he had won the kind of banana-republic plebiscite that grants authority to remake everything in one’s own image, said Fouad Ajami. Obama unveiled his plans for a grand makeover of the American system, with greatly enlarged state power, government spending and national debt.
  3. The public resisted Obama’s plans. TEA PARTIES sprang up across the nation. Obama’s reaction made things worse. He and his supporters called the resistance a racist mob. All the while the administration was cutting quiet, opaque backroom deals with every manner of special interest, exchanging favors for $ billions.
  4. Obama undertook a summer campaign to enlighten the masses by addressing the objections to his reforms, and things got worse. Obama jeopardized the trust of the people. He overstated the need for reform, promised that his changes would have no effect on us, either didn’t know or purposely misled the public, and said that he would expand coverage while reducing deficits—inspiring incredulity and mistrust. We BRISTLED. Meanwhile, Obama continued to centralize power, govern left, believe his press, disdain citizens and organize resistance against what citizens were saying.
Obama will never be the same. He’s been shown to be a mere mortal. For a man who only recently bred a cult, for his acolytes, it is a crushing disappointment. Like other flailing presidents, he will try to salvage a cherished reform -- and his own standing -- with yet another prime-time speech.

But for the first time since election night in Grant Park, he will appear in the most unfamiliar of guises -- mere mortal, a treacherous transformation to which a man of Obama's supreme self-regard may never adapt.
