LGBT turnout for free course surprises local shooting range

Shiloh offered free gun classes to the LGBT community and hundreds of people responded. --"We learned gun safety,” said Jared Anthony. “We learned that it's not ... it's a big responsibility. If you do carry, it's something that you do need to take seriously. You are providing ... you're providing a service to the community really."

Ninth Circuit Court rules that Second Amendment is “not a second class right”

Mississippi Likely to Join Permitless "Constitutional" Carry Club

ID: Governor Otter Signs Permitless Carry, Idaho Becomes Ninth Constitutional Carry State

(Hat tip: KimR) - Governor C.L Butch Otter reluctantly signed SB 1389, the permitless "Constitutional carry" bill that was passed by the Idaho legislature. His office sent the transmittal letter(pdf) to the President of the Senate today, the 25th of March, 2016. Idaho becomes the eighth state to restore permitless or "Constitutional" carry. Obama's Executive Gun Control: No Minimum Threshold Before Private Gun Sales Require Background Checks

On January 4, the White House released a fact sheet which previews the executive gun control Obama will announce Tuesday, and it reveals there is no numerical threshold of sales that a private seller has to cross before being considered “engaged in the business of dealing in firearms.”

Coos County Crushes Anti-Gun Law

In another stunning rebuke to the billionaire funded, anti-rights crazies, the people of Coos County have passed a Second Amendment Preservation Ordinance that nullifies dangerous and unconstitutional laws like SB 941. --Coos County Commissioner Bob Main is a strong supporter of gun rights, but the other two Commissioners, John Sweet and Melissa Cribben have served as nothing but road blocks to the defense of liberty, so the people went around them.

Flouting The Law, Some New Yorkers Won't Register Guns

New York state has some of the toughest gun laws in the country. Compliance with those laws is another matter. --New York passed a broad package of gun regulations after the school shooting in Newtown, Conn., despite the objections of hunters and gun rights advocates. Now it appears that many gun owners are refusing to comply with a key provision that requires the registration of so-called assault weapons. --"I think this law was so incredibly repressive that it drove people to the point now that they're basically saying we're not going to abide by any more laws," says Brian Olesen, the owner of American Trade and Goods and several other outdoor stores around Albany, N.Y., that stock a wide range of guns for hunting and self-defense. Olesen says his customers overwhelmingly oppose the New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act — or SAFE Act, as the 2013 gun law is known.

Gun advocates hit three Oregon lawmakers with recall petitions -- warn more could be coming

SALEM -- Gun rights activists troubled by surging legislation meant to expand background checks for gun sales have filed recall petitions against three Oregon lawmakers. And they warn more could be on the way.

On Wednesday, a Hillsboro man submitted paperwork against Sen. Chuck Riley, D-Hillsboro, and Rep. Susan McLain, D-Forest Grove -- both of whom are in their first terms and part of an expanded Democratic majority enabled, in part, by campaign donations from gun-control advocates.

Riley, who narrowly defeated Republican incumbent Bruce Starr, was particularly helped by money from a gun-control committee led by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. His vote was key to helping Senate Bill 941 pass to the House on a 17-13 vote this week. Both McLain and Riley sponsored the bill.

I had a doctors appointment at the local VA clinic yesterday and found out something very interesting that I would like to pass along. While going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the end of the exam, three questions:
1. Did I feel stressed?
   
2. Did I feel threatened?
   
3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone?



The nurse then informed me, that if I had answered yes to any of the questions, I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to Homeland Security. Looks like they are going after the vets first. Other gun people like retired law enforcement will probably be next. Then when they go after the civilians, what argument will they have? Be forewarned and be aware. The Obama administration has gone on record as considering veterans and gun owners potential terrorists. Whether you are a gun owner veteran or not, YOU"VE BEEN WARNED! If you know veterans and gun owners, please pass this on to them. Be very cautious about what you say and to whom.

A Joint Staff Report prepared for Rep. Darrell Issa of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and Sen. Chuck Grassley of the Senate Judiciary Committee has just been released today. Titled “The Department of Justice’s Operation Fast and Furious Fueling Cartel Violence,” the report asserts:

Operation Fast and Furious made unprecedented use of a dangerous investigative technique known as “gunwalking.” Rather than intervene and seize illegally purchase firearms, ATF’s Phoenix Field Division allowed known straw purchasers to walk away with guns, over and over again. As a result, the weapons were transferred to criminals and Mexican Drug Cartels.
